Sammy played for New York Red Bulls U-16 Team, recording six goals and two assists during his first season and 14 goals and four assists his second season... Member of the U-18 U.S. National Team and traveled to Mexico in 2005 as part of the U-14 national squad... Has also played club soccer for the Golden Stars (Ghana), Den of Lions (Ironbound,NJ), and NY Red Bulls U-18.. Won the league championship with the Den of Lions in 2007-09 and was the team's MVP and top scorer... Won the 2007 USA 14 National Team Award...
Has training experience with Sheffield Wednesday (England '09), Derby County FC (England '10), and LOSC Lille (France '10) while preparing for his college education... Varsity soccer player at St. Benedict's Prep. Sammy played college soccer at Iona in New Rochelle NY where he was a captain his senior year. Some of the accolades he received during his collegiate career include the All-MAAC Rookie Team, NSCAA Men's Division All-North Atlantic First Team... All-MAAC First Team(x2) and MAAC All-Academic Team Selection.
Being a Ghanaian American, Sammy represented the USA U-18 National Team in 2010 and then later represented the Ghana U-20 National Team in 2012. He is eligible to play for either country at the Senior Level. Sammy moved to Denmark after graduating from Iona in 2014 with a Business Marketing degree and had a brief 3 month stint with 2.division side FC Sydvest. He scored 6 goals and had 4 assists in 9 games for the club which led to a 2 day trial with 2.division side Næstved Boldklub. Sammy will help lead the team to promotion and later sign a multi year contract with the club in the 1.Division.
In November 2017, Sammy signed a short term deal to play in the ISPS Handa Premiership with Hawkes Bay United FC in New Zealand.
In January 2019, Sammy Adjei retired from playing professionally and is now the Head Coach of Wayne Hills High School and the Owner of soccer training company, SA Soccer Virtuoso
