OVERVIEW
Sammy Adjei Junior is a Ghanaian-American business owner and a former professional soccer player. His former clubs include the New York Red Bulls, USA, Naestved Boldklub, Denmark, and Hawkes Bay United, New Zealand. He has also represented the Team U.S.A U-14 and U-18 National teams and the Ghana U-20 National Team. Sammy comes with over twelve years of experience in the soccer industry in various roles such as a college assistant athletic director, club technical director, head men and women’s soccer coach, and Director of business development.
CURRENTLY
Sammy is the Assistant Athletic Director and Head of Women’s Soccer at Caldwell University (NCAA D II). He is also the Head Coach of the New Jersey Olympic Development Program’s U-14 team. In addition, Sammy is the College Pathway Director for Soccer For Life Millburn. He received his bachelor’s degree in business marketing from Iona University(NY), where he was an NCAA All-American in 2012 and a team captain. Before that, Sammy played for New Jersey High School’s soccer powerhouse, St.Benedict’s Prep in Newark, NJ, where he won a state championship in 2009 and was ranked TopDrawerSoccer Top 100 high school soccer players in the country.
Sammy also has an MBA in Sports Management from Rider University. He owns Soccer Virtuoso, an elite soccer training company in NJ and Ghana.
PROFESSIONAL/ INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
Sammy Adjei has been in camp with the Ghana U17 women’s National Team and the Ghana U23 men’s National Team. He also spent time with Naestved BK’s professional women’s team in June 2024.
